100% Grass-Fed Lamb

Ethically Raised, Naturally Grown

We believe that the best-tasting lamb comes from animals that are respected and allowed to express their natural instincts.

  • Our lambs spend their entire lives on open pasture, grazing on a diverse mix of native grasses and herbs—just as nature intended.
  • We use calm, regenerative livestock practices to ensure our flock stays healthy and happy without the need for routine antibiotics or hormones.
  • From birth to harvest, we prioritize animal welfare above all else. We provide a peaceful environment where they can roam, socialize, and thrive.

Difference of Regenerative Grazing

Grass-fed lamb isn’t just better for the planet; it’s better for you. Because our sheep forage on nutrient-dense pastures, the meat is:

  • Leaner & Healthier: Higher in Omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamin E compared to grain-fed alternatives.
  • Complex Flavor: A clean, delicate, and earthy flavor profile that reflects the specific grasses of our region.
  • Chemical Free: No synthetic fertilizers, no pesticides, just sun, soil, and rain.

Why Buy Direct?

From Our Pastures to Your Plate When you buy directly from Plum Creek Farm, you’re cutting out the middleman and the long-haul transport that defines the industrial food system.

  • Know Your Farmer: Get full transparency into how your food was raised and handled.

  • Peak Freshness: Our lamb doesn’t sit in a warehouse; it is processed and delivered at the height of quality.

  • Support Local: Your purchase goes directly back into the land and the local economy, ensuring the heritage of sustainable farming continues.

The Power of the Pre-Order

Why We Work on a Pre-Order Basis Unlike a supermarket, we don’t “stock” mass-produced meat. We raise our lambs in harmony with the natural cycles of the seasons.

Zero Waste: Pre-ordering allows us to ensure every part of the animal is respected and utilized, preventing the industrial waste common in retail stores.

Small Batch Quality: We only harvest a limited number of animals each season to ensure each one meets our high standards for marbling, tenderness, and flavor.

Secure Your Share: Our lamb sells out quickly. By pre-ordering today, you guarantee your family’s supply of ethical, grass-fed protein for the season ahead.

Direct Connection: Your commitment allows us to focus on animal husbandry and land stewardship rather than complex retail logistics and middleman markups.

Simple & Transparent: How Our Pre-Order Works

What to Expect From Our Seasonal Harvest: Buying a whole or half lamb is a unique experience. We’ve made the process simple so you can feel confident from the pasture to your plate.

Reserve Your Share: Fill out the form below to select a Whole or Half Lamb. You’ll pay a non-refundable deposit to “claim” your animal and help us plan our farm operations sustainably.

The Growing Season: Our lambs grow naturally on open pasture at their own pace. We never use grain or hormones. We’ll send occasional “Field Reports” so you can follow the flock’s progress.

Harvest & Butchery: Once at peak maturity, lambs are harvested and taken to our local craft butcher. For whole shares, we will contact you at this stage to confirm any specific custom cut preferences.

Final Payment: We will invoice you for the final balance based on the official hanging weight. Once settled, your vacuum-sealed, frozen lamb is ready for farm pickup or local delivery.

Use the form below to let us know you’re interested. We’ll keep your spot in line and won’t ask for a deposit just yet. Once the lambs are born this spring, we can confirm our exact numbers. Once the flock is accounted for, we will reach out to you to confirm your order and collect the deposit to secure your share. The deposit is $200 for a whole lamb and $100 for half a lamb.

FAQ

How much does the lamb cost?

Our price is $14 per lb hanging weight. Unlike many farms, this price is all-inclusive. There are no separate “butcher/wrap fees.” The price you see covers everything from the pasture to your freezer.

What does the “All-Inclusive” price cover?
The Lamb: 100% grass-fed and ethically raised.
Harvest & Processing: Professional, humane harvesting.
Custom Butchery: Expert breakdown of the animal into steaks, roasts, and grinds.
Packaging: Each cut is wrapped and labelled for long-term freshness in your freezer.

How much freezer space do I need?

As a rule of thumb, a Half Lamb will fit into a standard kitchen freezer with room to spare (about 1.5 cubic feet), while a Whole Lamb usually requires about 3 cubic feet of space.

What is "Hanging Weight"?

Hanging weight is the weight of the lamb after it has been harvested and dressed, but before it is aged and butchered into individual cuts.

Why we charge this way: This is the fairest way to price farm-direct meat, as every animal is unique in size.
What to expect: On average, a whole lamb has a hanging weight between 40–60 lbs. This means a whole lamb typically ranges from $560 to $840
